 Shipping firearms

I have shipped firearms before but I do not think that I did it the right way. I'm about to post a firearm for sale and I would like to know some details and specifics on the legality of shipping firearms. I live in Indiana if that helps.

The GunBroker auction site has a pretty detailed Firearms Shipping Guide that should get you on the right path: http://www.gunbroker.com/Support/SupportFAQView.aspx?faqid=1118

You can ship your firearm to a licensed dealer. That dealer will in turn transfer the firearm to the actual buyer.

You send a copy of your driver's license along with the firearm so the dealer can log it in his bound book. And have the dealer send you a copy of his FFL so you can know where the gun went in case you need that info down the road. (Copy gun info, date and any other info you think pertinent on it)

Send it UPS.

Hope that helps
