 Mauser DWM M93 action
Westley Richards DWM M93

I am looking at buying a Westley Richards 7x57 that has been built on a Mauser DWM M93 action. Who can tell me more about these actions? Are they reliable for modern ammunition? I reload myself, and wonder if they withstand the pressures. In general, are these smooth actions? Built by Westley Richards, I pressume this is a good firearm to buy. ANy comments about Westly Richards?

are you sure it's a m-93, w.r. did use m-98 actions. even so the m-93 is up to sammi spec. ammo (45,000 cup), just no +p .

Oberholf,

Welcome to Mauser Central.

Have to answer a ? with a ?. Is the front of the bolt face flat on the bottom. That is a sure indicator of a M93 Mauser.

Pictures Please. Lots of Pictures. I love the Old WR's. and other custom guns built back in the day. Wink

Thanks for the replies Cool

I intend to shoot this rifle with design pressures, and will not hot it up - should be fine for the M93.

The front of the bolt face is flat at the bottom, so I take it is a M93. Pacrat, I've emailed you some pics!

Yes, flat bottom bolt is indicative of a M93. I like the 93's they sure are a slick working action. That is a fine looking sporter. I don't know if W-R used the original stepped barrels on their rifles. Post the pics here on site. We have some fellas here really sharp on the classic mausers. They will probably know for sure.

Share pics of your M70 Winnie also. It is another beautifull classic.
