Greg G's Mauser Scout. Greg says-
Here's some pics of my Scout Rifle (Jeff Cooper has his definition of a "Scout" rifle, and I have my definition too!!) The rifle started life as an FR8. That is the original stock trimmed and refinished with Tru-Oil with all the metal hardware removed, a Ruger © recoil pad added, all voids filled with AcraGlas gel, action glass bedded, Patridge (Ashley) front sight and a good ol' tough all steel Redfield aperture sight, etc. The forward scope base is from Ashley Outdoors and it holds a Burris 2 3/4X Scout scope. Long story short, of the dozen or so centerfire rifles I own, this has become my favorite for deer hunting or just prowling through the woods. With its 18 1/2" barrel it is quite accurate, averages right at 2750 fps with my 150 gr. handload, and handles so well. Also, my daughter, who started as an 11 year old and with this rifle and a cast bullet handload, has killed three deer with three shots in three consecutive hunting seasons.

This is my k98 I replaced the stock with an advanced technology stock and simons 9/40 scope shoots nice.

6mm rem imp on vz24. richards microfit stock, swift scope, bold trigger. This is my first rifle build and it easily shoots sub MOA with an occasional bug hole
